Fundtruck: a lorry to finance start-up projects

Fundtruck, the ‘food truck’ of financing, will be back on the road when schools go back, heading off in the direction of the Basque Country. It will give entrepreneurs the opportunity to meet local investors and present their project.

Arousing, detecting, supporting and financing innovative business initiatives are all objectives of the Communauté Pays Basque, which has placed innovation and support for entrepreneurship at the heart of its blueprint for economic development.

As part of this initiative, it is supporting the Basque stage of Fundtruck at the start of the new school year, in an event created by the company Sowefund, aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and giving start-ups greater visibility through a travelling national competition. The Basque stage of the tour of Nouvelle-Aquitaine will take place on 9 September on the Arkinova technology park.

The competition on board Fundtruck

Following a call for applications, five young entrepreneurs will be selected and invited on board Fundtruck to present their project to a judging panel representing members of the local ecosystem: investors, successful entrepreneurs, media, etc. From among these five start-ups, the winner will be able to compete in the regional ‘Little Final’ for the chance to win a place in the national ‘Grand Final’ to be held in Paris in November, with 100,000 euros worth of media advertising as a bonus.

In addition to this reward, Fundtruck passing through the Pays Basque will enable local start-ups, especially those from the ecosystem of the Technopole Pays Basque, to be placed on the network, giving visibility to the ecosystem of entrepreneurship in the Pays Basque.

Practical information

The competition is open to all business sectors. To make an application the start-up must have been in existence for less than 8 years and must be seeking a minimum of 200,000 euros.

Applications are open until 23 August 2021 at https://fundtruck.com/nouvelle-aquitaine
