The Nouvelle-Aquitaine technopoles come together

The ‘Nouvelle-Aquitaine Technopoles’ Association has just been created and brings together the nine accredited technopoles of Nouvelle-Aquitaine with the aim of sharing skills, resources and projects.

The ‘Nouvelle-Aquitaine Technopoles’ Association was created this winter to revitalise the ‘Aquitaine Technopoles’ Association of five technopoles and extend into the larger territory of Nouvelle-Aquitaine. It brings together nine technopoles all accredited by RETIS Innovation : Agropole Services (Agen), Bordeaux TechnowestUnitec (Pessac), Hélioparc (Pau), Ester Technopole (Limoges), Eurekatech (Angoulême), La Rochelle TechnopoleTechnopole Grand Poitiers and Technopole Pays Basque.

“The idea is to set up a network of the scientific and industrial skills of each of the technopoles, to represent the members, to coordinate, share and lead activities, to create a community of interest while ensuring that each technopole retains its specific nature and way of operating. It is a bonus for entrepreneurs for ‘their’ technopole to be part of a regional network: more activities, more collective intelligence, more presence at regional events, more meeting opportunities to enlarge their professional network,” specifies Gilles Loir-Mongazon, President of the Association and Director of La Rochelle Technopole.

Shared resources and ideas

‘Nouvelle-Aquitaine Technopoles’ brings together the management and leadership teams of each of the nine technopoles as the presidency of the association is renewed each year. Several annual meetings are scheduled, tools for collaboration are now in place, and projects will soon be launched.

“The four technopoles of Poitiers, Limoges, Angoulême and La Rochelle are sharing their resources to organise Invest’Dating, an event like the Bask’Invest day that brings together start-ups and investors from the Pays Basque,” says Gilles Loir-Mongazon, explaining the type of activities the association could encourage. As each technopole has one or several specific areas of activity, technology transfers and/or support for innovative projects could be optimised for the benefit of the regional economy.
