Compositadour Technological Centre
Located at Technocité in Bayonne, Compositadour is a technological centre dedicated to advanced materials.
Based in a 2,000 m² building at the site since 2010, Compositadour is specialised in robotised processes for the implementation of composite materials and is equipped with innovative machines.
It makes prototypes and pre-production batches of composite parts and also designs production processes with integrated automation.
The centre has around 15 employees. It also has around 20 external associates: company staff, students, interns undergoing training. Two thirds of its activity is focused on contracted research for companies and one third relates to public service assignments.
While Compositadour has proven expertise in aeronautics, it also works in other sectors. As such, the centre also develops parts for the marine renewable energy sector. Furthermore, teams work with the Breton company Coriolis Composites (a resident of Compositadour) on the European Walid project. Their aim is to develop very large blades for offshore wind turbines, made from light, recyclable, and corrosion-resistant composite materials. These skills will allow for cross-sector interaction that could be advantageous.
