In partnership with the CREAHd Aquitaine cluster, the Carbone 64 thermal design office based at the Arkinova Technology Park is organising a visit to a passive house in Aureilhan in the Landes region on Friday 13 October.

Directed by Sandra Ripeau, the Carbone 64 design office carries out thermal studies for construction and renovation projects for houses, apartment buildings and tertiary sector buildings. In 2012, Carbone 64 opened the first passive house in Aquitaine, in Arcangues.

A passive house or a very low energy house is a house which is virtually self-sufficient in its heating requirements, which are supplied by solar and metabolic gains (residents, electrical appliances, lighting) optimised by good insulation, ventilation and water tightness.

Carbone 64 is attached to the Aquitaine CREAHd cluster (sustainable construction, resources, environment, development, and housing), and is offering an opportunity to visit one of its latest projects: a passive and bioclimatic house recently opened in Aureilhan in the département of the Landes.

The occupants of the house will give feedback on their experience: the development of the project from design to building site, winter and summer comfort, and the cost of the project. The visit is organised for Friday 13 October 2017, from 9.30 am to 12 pm.
