Development projects for the Activity Generator

Students on the BTS Spatial Design course at Lycée Cantau are working on design and development projects for the atrium at the Arkinova Activity Generator.

 

It was a complete year group of 18 first-year students from the BTS Spatial Design course at Lycée Cantau which arrived on two occasions in September to carry out measurements in the building’s atrium. These students’ project is to plan a design for the Activity Generator’s central foyer.

In groups of three, they measured the dimensions of this vast thoroughfare opening onto all the offices and working areas of the Arkinova Activity Generator. They are now going to work on development projects which nevertheless include some constraints and imperatives. They will have to respect the spirit of the place, adhere to the Generator’s theme, namely sustainable construction, and create a design which is modular, as the atrium regularly hosts meetings and events.

As part of their training in the design & creation of interior (residential, commercial) spaces, transient spaces (stands, exhibitions, trade fairs), natural spaces, objects and furnishings, these students will submit ideas for the atrium. Their plans will be exhibited there during the academic year in the form of mock-ups and drawings.

The opening of this exhibition will be held at the end of December, in the presence of stakeholders from the Arkinova Technology Park and construction professionals in order to highlight the work of these students. A panel made up of, amongst others, users of the Generator, as well as design and construction professionals, will be in charge of interviewing each group and commenting on the students’ work. A rich experience which will culminate in the installation in the atrium of a selection of the different solutions proposed.
