The second edition of the "Heat, light and wind simulation on an urban scale" symposium has taken place at the Arkinova business generator with researchers from France, Spain, Switzerland, Italy and Uruguay attending.

The first symposium entitled "Heat, light and wind simulation on an urban scale" was held on the Arkinova technology park in February 2017 as the inaugural scientific event under the auspices of the "Architecture and Urban Physics" chair. It is the result of a partnership (under the Investments for the future scheme) between the University of Pau and the Pays de l’Adour (UPPA), the Nobatek/INEF 4 technological research centre, the  Nouvelle-Aquitaine Regional Authority and the Basque Country Urban Authority (Communauté d’Agglomération Pays Basque).

The holder of the chair, Benoit Beckers divides his time between teaching at the ISA BTP (Aquitaine Higher Institute for Building and Public Works) and research at UPPA and the Nobatek/INEF 4 Centre, all three organisations being based on the Arkinova Technology Park. Benoit Beckers is conducting research in the field of sustainable building and he is working on physics applied to the city, a field known as "urban physics".

The second edition of the "Heat, light and wind simulation on an urban scale" symposium took place at the Arkinova business generator on 12 February. This symposium presented recent developments in physical measurement and simulation on an urban scale. This high-level scientific symposium was attended by some forty researchers from France, Spain, Switzerland, Italy and Uruguay, but also by fourth and fifth year students from ISA BTP.
