The lecturer-researcher specialising in wave modelling is the new director of the SIAME (Engineering Sciences Applied to Mechanics and Electrical Engineering) Laboratory, based at the Arkinova Technology Park.

Stéphane Abadie, a professor at the University of Pau and Pays de l’Adour (UPPA) and manager of the “Mechanics” team at SIAME, is one of the French specialists in wave modelling. Since the beginning of the 2017 academic year, he has been director of this laboratory, bringing together around thirty lecturer-researchers and the same number of doctoral students and postdocs, divided between the Pau and Anglet sites. He takes the place of Christian Laborderie, who has been appointed director of the ISA BTP engineering college.

SIAME is based on the UPPA campus, within the Arkinova Technology Park, and focuses on four different areas of research: Energy transition and eco-construction, Risks and constructions, Modelling, Multi-physical characterisation and optimisation and High voltage generation and processes. The Arkinova site is home to activities dedicated to the themes of “Energy transition and eco-construction” and “Risks and constructions”.
