Second season for Modames

Created by Amélie Devaux and Maud Tyrbas, the Modames platform sells outfits optimised through the advice of specialists. Modames was launched last June and is now embarking on the autumn collection season.

It’s a platform which allows potential customers to create and complete their profile so that the Modames team can send them a selection of garments adapted to their style. Customers then have seven days to try these garments and fashion accessories and then keep and purchase the ones they like and return those they don’t like.

“The platform has been online since the beginning of June with around ten brands from several European countries. Today we have more than 400 customers registered on modames.com. They come from all over mainland France, the youngest being 21 and the oldest 72”, stated Amélie Devaux.

Amélie Devaux and Maud Tyrbas are based at the Izarbel Technology Park and created their start-up there in the autumn of 2016. Benefiting from the support ofFrench Tech via a subsidy from Bpifrance and being Réseau Entreprendre Adouraward winners, the two partners in this young company have acquired the skills to develop their website themselves while subcontracting the payment module and data security elements.

With an average of three items kept and therefore sold to customers, the Modames platform has found its business model. One of the strong points of this platform is the choice of products offered: “brands which are rather difficult to find but also ethical brands and designer brands” specified Amélie Devaux. In September, the two partners scoured the Paris ready to wear trade fairs, to unearth new brands in order to increase the appeal of the platform and prepare for forthcoming seasons.
