The Basque Country Technology Park at VivaTech

The third VivaTech international exhibition on start-ups and new technologies takes place from 24 to 26 May in Paris and will feature a space hosted by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region for 24 pre-selected start-ups. Message in a Window, which is based in the Izarbel Technology Park, will exhibit at the event, while other start-ups from the Basque Country Technology Park will attend as visitors.

Now in its third year, the VivaTech exhibition has ambitions to become as big as CES, the key consumer electronics event held every year in Las Vegas. VivaTech 2018, organised by Porte de Versailles, will welcome more than 1,000 exhibitor start-ups.

Several hundred will be on offer, featuring speakers from some of the world’s biggest names in technology. Around ten country pavilions (hosted by the likes of Israel, South Korea and Russia) will give a truly international feel to the event. Although it is aimed primarily at professionals (start-ups, investors, senior executives), VivaTech will be open to the public on one of the days.

The Nouvelle-Aquitaine region is taking a 120 m2 stand, where it will host 20 start-ups from the region that have been selected following a call for volunteers. Around 50 other start-ups will visit the event. The stand will act as a showcase for the structure of innovation and support available in Nouvelle-Aquitaine and, especially, in the Basque Country Technology Park network.

The innovative young company Message in a Window has been chosen by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region to exhibit at VivaTech. Established at the Izarbel Technology Park in early 2015, Message in a Window provides a marketplace service for advertisers who wish to use commercial storefronts as a communication space.

“We are delighted to have been chosen by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region because the VivaTech show gives us enormous visibility among advertisers, which is what we’re after. It also offers the opportunity to meet potential partners and suppliers, as well as other start-ups, with whom we can share experiences and potential investors,” says Hélène Bouchard, director of this innovative, Izarbel-based company. Note that Message in a Window has also been chosen by Challenges magazine as one of the 100 start-ups to invest in for 2018.
