The Arkinova Business Generator hosted a day of conferences in the framework of the SUDOE STOP CO2 European project, dedicated to the energy transition of bus and railway stations in the south west of Europe.

The aim of the SUDOE STOP CO2 European project is to address the building deficiencies of bus and train stations in cites throughout south-west Europe. These buildings are often heavy consumers of energy and produce high levels of greenhouse gases. The goal is to reduce the energy bill and the environmental impact of these facilities. Led in association with French, Spanish and Portuguese experts, the SUDOE STOP CO2 project aims to create an energy-level assessment tool and provide solutions which integrate digital transition and sustainable development.

On 20 November, the Arkinova Business Generator hosted a conference in this framework, organised by Sandra Ripeau, manager of the Carbone BET design office, based on site. ‘The European programme includes technical conferences which also provide updates on the progress of the project. Arkinova is the ideal location to bring together the regional and Spanish project stakeholders I work with on this project’ says Sandra Ripeau.

Some fifty experts and students took part in this day of conferences. Following a morning devoted exclusively to the SUDOE STOP CO2 project, the afternoon dealt with broader topics with expert speakers, such as building information modelling (BIM). ‘We received positive feedback from project participants who also appreciated the Business Generator premises. The next conference will take place in Bordeaux next spring, before the restitution of our work in June 2019’, Ms. Ripeau concludes.
