On Thursday 11 January, for its first event of 2018, the Basque Country Digital Cluster organised a meeting for its members followed by the Chairman's address.

“We decided to organise this speed meeting in response to the requests of member companies in the cluster. The idea is to allow businesses to meet each other in a three-minute format”, explained Jean-Louis Mélin and Marie-Chantal Duguine, the association’s President and facilitator.

The Basque Country Digital Cluster had chosen to organise its first event of the year on another site in the Basque Country Technology Park, the Arkinova business generator. More than twenty company representatives had registered in advance, choosing the people they wished to meet.

“I particularly wanted to meet with people who had complementary skills and make use of the local ecosystem”, said Edouard Mongrand, creator of CallDoor. “I met a company which produces an interface which I need. We’re going to meet up again with a view to a possible collaboration” reported Stéphanie Lefèvre-sory, manager of the young companyMyTrendyMarket.  After these meetings, the entrepreneurs got together to hear the President’s address, accompanied by the traditional January Twelfth Night Cake.
