The Voltaire company, specialist in the manufacture of top-of-the-range saddles, has taken over the start-up Equisense, established in Lille, which develops articles connected with horse-riding.

Established in premises on the Izarbel technology park at Bidart since October 2017, the Voltaire Group is one of the world leaders in top-of-the-range made-to-measure sports saddles. The company has 180 employees across its three global subsidiaries and does 85% of its business via export to three countries: the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany.

At the beginning of March, the Voltaire Group announced it was taking over the company Equisense, which is becoming one of its subsidiaries. The two companies were already working together on the production of a saddle manufactured by the Voltaire Group and including a digital motion sensor for horse-riding developed by the Lille start-up. The Equisense brand will be retained and become part of the Voltaire Group that already includes six brands.

Taking over Equisense will enable the Voltaire Group to further develop innovative technologies. “We believe the horse is an athlete and that it deserves data to complement what the rider feels. We are certain that bringing this new technology to our saddles will allow everyone to attain their potential”, declared Brice Goguet, President and founder of the Voltaire Group.
