An application for medical tele-expertise developed at Izarbel

Michel Perrin and his company ecreatures are currently validating the beta version of a tele-expertise application to enable health professionals to exchange patient information remotely.

While doctors have been able to offer their patients a video-consultation for the same fee as a standard consultation since 15 September 2018, as of 10 February 2019, tele-expertise will allow doctors to seek the opinion of their fellow colleagues. An ophthalmologist in the Bayonne area called on ecreatures, based in the Izarbel Technology Park in Bidart, to develop a medical tele-expertise service for smartphone, tablet and PC.

‘This project took two and a half months to develop. The application allows the user to send the description of a case from a PC, telephone or tablet, in addition to a video or photo to complete the information. The application is currently in the test phase with private trials but we have set up a website which provides information on the econsult project’, said Michel Perrin, the head of the Izarbel-based company which develops tailor-made application solutions.

Built on the recent severless architecture which enables the creation and implementation of applications and services without having to manage an infrastructure, the econsult application also stands out as a Progressive Web App. Offering the very best of web technologies combined with settings and applications, Progressive Web Apps appeared about two years ago and provide numerous advantages, in particular for roll-out and updating.
